2024 Annual General Meeting

Tokai Japan Canada Society (TJCS) will hold its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 30, 2024 (Sat).


This year's AGM will be held on a Saturday in order to allow more Individual Regular Members to participate.

Meeting Details

Date: March 30th (Sat)

Time: 16:00 ~ 17:00
Place: Shooters Sports Bar & Grill

Dress: Casual

Generally, the AGM includes some or all of the following orders of business:

  1. Report on the Election of the Board;
  2. Annual Report from the President;
  3. Approval of the audited financial statements for the preceding fiscal year;
  4. Appointment of independent auditors or an audit committee of non-Governors;
  5. Other business deemed appropriate by the Board or raised by any Member who has the right to vote.

Among other business at the 2024 AGM, we will be voting on/swearing in a new President and one (1) new Vice President.

The AGM is open to all current TJCS Members in good standing, but is intended for Members only.
There is no cost to attend the Annual General Meeting.

Voting Members who are unable to attend may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf (typically, assigning this right to the sitting President).


After the meeting, there will be an optional buffet dinner party.

Pre-registration is required for both the AGM and the after party.

After Party Details

For those wishing to stick around and network after the meeting (17:00~), we'll be having a fun social gathering including a simple buffet and soft drinks.


The cost of the after party is ¥3,000 (incl. tax) per person and will include:

  • buffet
  • soft-drink bar*

*Alcohol extra and at your own cost.

About Membership:

Individual Memberships, including Family Members and Student Members, are renewable each year on the anniversary date of your joining the Society. If your Membership has lapsed, you will be asked to remit the current year's dues in order to re-activate your Membership.


Please note that merely receiving our email newsletter and event announcements does not constitute active Membership status.


About Voting Rights:

Memberships with voting rights include:

  • Corporate Members (primary representative)
  • Small Business Members (primary representative)
  • Individual Regular Members
  • Family Members (1 vote per family)
  • Individual Life Members


Memberships without voting rights:

  • Student Members
  • Affiliate Corporate Members
  • Associate Members
