TJCS Membership Options and Fees

Eligibility for Membership (with full voting rights) into the Tokai Japan Canada Society (TJCS) is limited to:

• qualified individuals that reside in the Tokai Region of Central Japan (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka Prefectures) at the time of membership application;
• corporations (with no geographical restrictions)

Yes, you can be a Member, too!

Individuals residing outside of the Tokai Region may join as a non-voting Associate Member and enjoy all other benefits of TJCS Membership.

Corporate Member

This membership is open to a corporation, partnership, private or governmental agency/association or educational institution having an Executive Member who has an interest in the goals and objectives of the society. A Corporate Member shall have one vote and it may register one individual representing the corporation for TJCS and it may register an unlimited number of Affiliate Corporate members for a minimal fee as outlined below. Corporate members will be recorded by their name, title, company/organization name and work address. Company name and a link will be displayed on the society website.

¥90,000 per year

Affiliate Corporate Member

This membership is open to any employee of a qualifying organization which is a Corporate Member of the society (TJCS). Affiliate Corporate members shall have no voting right. Affiliate Corporate members will be recorded by their name, title, company/organization name and work address.

¥5,000 per year

Small Business (SME) Member

This membership is open to a company, partnership, or enterprise having a president, director or owner who has an interest in the goals and objectives of the society. Also a company, partnership or enterprise producing a net profit of no more than ￥100,000,000 annually, may qualify for a Small Business (SME) Membership. A Small Business Member may register up to two (2) individuals to represent the company - with one (1) shared voting right. SME Members may have their company name and a link to their website displayed on the society website.

Individual - Regular Member

This membership is open to a qualifying individual, of any nationality, who is a resident of the Tokai region and has an interest in the goals and objectives of the TJCS. This is a voting membership which renews on a yearly basis. Individual Members will be recorded by their name and home address.

¥5,000 per year

Individual - Life Member

This membership is open to a qualifying individual who pays ten (10) years of membership fees in one lump sum with no further payments required for the duration of the member's life. Life time membership ceases upon the death or resignation of the member. No refund of the membership fee is made in the case or death or resignation. This is a voting membership type. Individual Members will be recorded by their name and home address.

¥50,000 one time

Family Membership

This membership is open to a qualifying family, of Canadian or Japanese nationality, who is resident in the Tokai region or Canada and has an interest in the goals and objectives of the society. This is a voting membership with one vote per family and renews on an annual basis.

This classification is intended for the basic nuclear family including up to two parents and dependent children while they are still engaged in education.

¥7,500 per year

Student Member

This membership is available to a qualifying student who is under the age of 30 years old. The applicant must be a resident of the Tokai Region and possess a Student Visa to meet residence requirements in Japan. This is a non-voting membership which renews on a yearly basis subject to the normal eligibility requirements.

¥2,500 per year

Associate Member

This membership is available to a qualifying individual of any nationality, who has an interest in the goals and objectives of the society, and who for reasons specified by the Board, may become an associate member of the society. This is a non-voting membership.

Please select this membership type if you wish to join as an Individual - Regular Member, but reside outside of the Tokai Region (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka).
